Job Summary

The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources management for the hotel and restaurant, ensuring the recruitment, development, and retention of a high-performing workforce. The role involves creating a positive work environment, implementing effective HR policies, and aligning HR strategies with the operational goals of the hospitality business.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various hotel and restaurant roles.

Oversee the entire recruitment process, including job postings, candidate interviews, and onboarding.

Collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing needs and create workforce plans.

Training and Development:

Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and ensure service excellence.

Identify opportunities for career development and succession planning within the organization.

Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Employee Relations:

Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.

Implement employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and retention.

Serve as the main point of contact for employee grievances and disciplinary actions.

Compensation and Benefits:

Manage payroll and employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.

Conduct periodic reviews of compensation structures to ensure competitiveness in the market.

Provide guidance on performance management and reward systems.

Compliance and Policy Development:

Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and other legal requirements.

Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to align with industry best practices.

Prepare for and manage inspections or audits related to labor and employment practices.

Workforce Planning and Administration:

Monitor employee attendance, turnover, and performance metrics.

Oversee scheduling and rostering to ensure adequate staffing levels across all departments.

Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.

Diversity and Inclusion:

Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the workplace.

Promote a respectful and culturally aware environment for employees and guests.

Strategic Contribution:

Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives.

Provide HR insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Lead change management initiatives to support organizational development.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, CHRP) is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Previous experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels and restaurants, is required.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
