Job Summary
The Associate Financial Consultant will support the financial planning and advisory functions for the hotel and restaurant business. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing actionable insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a keen understanding of the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to assist in decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports, including performance summaries, cost analysis, and profit margins.
- Monitor industry-specific KPIs such as occupancy rates, average revenue per guest, and food cost ratios.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets for hotel and restaurant departments.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide recommendations to improve cost management and revenue generation.
Advisory and Strategy Support:
- Collaborate with senior consultants to provide financial strategies that align with business objectives.
- Analyze market trends and operational data to identify growth opportunities.
- Offer insights into pricing strategies, cost control, and resource allocation.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Support risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
System and Process Improvement:
- Use financial software and tools to streamline analysis and reporting.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. A professional certification (e.g., CFA, CFP) is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis or consulting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Skills:
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis tools, and software (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry metrics and financial practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
